A cooperation protocol was signed in January 2021 between the Directorate General for Secondary Education and the Turkish Patent and Brand Institutions with the purpose of increasing awareness about industrial property rights among administrators, teachers and students of science high schools affiliated to the Directorate General for Secondary Education; protecting industrial property rights of innovations and intellectual products found as a result of projects and activities at the science high schools; contributing to the technologic and industrial development of Turkey and patenting students' works.
Within the framework of this protocol, a training program is designed between April 7, 8, 14 and 15, 2021 for the representatives of "Intellectual and Industrial Property Rights Departments" affiliated at the science high schools and those who are working in the "Protocol Corporate Coordination Board".
The online training program began with the keynote speeches of Director General for the Secondary Education Cengiz Mete and Chairman of Turkish Patent and Brand Institution Prof. Dr. Habip Asan.
Mete mentioned activities carried out as a part of the cooperation protocol which was signed under the leadership of Deputy Minister of National Educaiton Mahmut Özer and reminded that they had organized a training program in February which was participated by 3000 people about the patent and design concepts.
Noting that they wish to provide stronger support for students about patent and design, Mete went on to say: "We have founded Intellectual and Industrial Rights Departments in 315 science schools and we organized this training program for our colleagues who were assigned to these departments."
Mete thanked Prof. Dr. Asan for their cooperation and support.
Meanwhile, Asan recalled that the institute previously organized an activity entitled, "Now, it is time to think" with the Ministry of National Education and the new training program allowed them to enhance this cooperation.
Asan thanked Deputy Minister Özer for the establishment and development of this cooperation protocol adding that he was happy to see this protocol as well as the "Turkey Patent Contest" provided them the opportunity to raise awareness about talent rights.
The online seminar program designed for a group comprising of 1800 people includes headlines such as "Fundamental Concepts about Patent/Useful Model, Registration and Procedures concerning After Registration, Applied Online Patent Application and Promotion System of the Ministry of National Education, Inventions of employees, Brand Concept, Design Concept, Duties and Responsibilities of Science High School Intellectual and Industrial Rights Department Representatives and Cooperation with the Turkish Patent and Brand Institution.
