The Ministry of National Education continues to focus on patent, useful model, design and brand activities as a part of intellectual property rights projects that have been undertaken since 2019.
Within this context, first steps were taken in the vocational education and total of 188 products, 12 of them being patent, 8 useful models, 109 designs and 59 brands were registered in 2020.
Meanwhile, intellectual property rights became a prior issue as a part of Special Education and Guidance Services. Within this context, Science and Arts Centers (BİLSEMs) continues intellectual property rights activities while they also began to register education materials used in the special education institutions. Turkish Patent and Brand Institution has registered 35 special training and education materials used by the Ministry of National Education in special education institutions in the first five months of 2021. Total of registered education materials by the Directorate General for Special Education and Guidance Services increased to 39. Registered materials are sent to special education classes as a part of "Special Materials for Special Children Project."
Deputy Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer stated that the Ministry wanted to disseminate intellectual property rights awareness among secondary education institutions adding that, "We have taken important steps about intellectual property rights in special education. We have been carrying out activities in two stages. Firstly, BİLSEMs are successfully working on this issue. Second stage is the registration of education materials used in the special education classes. Turkish Patent and Brand Institution has registered 35 special training and education materials used by the Ministry of National Education in special education institutions in the first five months of 2021. Total of registered education materials by the Directorate General for Special Education and Guidance Services increased to 39. Registered education materials will be produced by the Education Material Production Center and vocational high schools and will be sent to special education classes."
Meanwhile, Özer thanked Chairman of Turkish Patent and Brand Institution Habip Asan, Director General for Special Education and Guidance Services Mehmet Nezir Gül and his colleagues who successfully carried out this process.
