The Ministry of National Education continues to take firm steps in an effort to achieve its goal to disseminate access to preschool education and increase equal opportunity in education. Aiming at opening 3.000 new kindergartens and 40,000 new preschool classrooms and increasing preschool education capacity by 100 percent until the end of 2022, the Ministry opened 103 kindergartens and 7,800 preschool classrooms in the last 6 months.

 

Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer stressed that preschool education has crucial importance in decreasing success differences and increasing equal opportunity in education.

 

Noting that they are determined to achieve their goals set for 2022, Minister Özer went on to say:

 

"We are working intensively in order to increase schooling rates in all 81 cities of the country. We have opened 103 kindergartens and 7,800 preschool classrooms in different parts of the country in the last 6 months. Our project continues as planned. On the other hand, we also consider alternative models for increasing access to preschool education."
