NUMBER OF BİLSEMs REACHED 279

The Ministry of National Education is disseminating Science and Arts Centers (BİLSEMs) supporting special talented students to improve their skills and talents throughout the country. The Ministry has managed to increase the number of BİLSEMs from 183 to 225 in 2021. Finally, the number of these centers reached 279. The Ministry aims at increasing the number of BİLSEMs to 350 until the end of 2022.
 
There are a total of 969 workshops, 554 of them being for special talent, 183 music and 232 visual arts at the BİLSEMs. A total of 67,375 students are enrolled in these centers.
 
BİLSEMs have applied for the registration of 2,657 products
BİLSEMs have successfully carried out intellectual property rights projects. In 2021, BİLSEMs completed the registrations of 13 patents, 39 useful models, 1,245 designs and 8 brands.
 
"We have been constantly improving infrastructures and means of BİLSEMs which are supported by implementing different education programs for special talented children in an effort to help them develop their skills and talents. We believe that it is very important to focus on product development activities in these centers. On the other hand, we are aiming at disseminating these centers to every part of the country. Within this framework, we opened 54 new BİLSEMs in February and increased the number of these centers to 279. We are aiming at increasing the number of BİLSEMs to 350 until the end of 2022," said Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer.
