Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer said that in addition to steps taken in order to improve practice skills of vocational and technical high school students, the Ministry of National Education continues to see the financial success of vocational high schools as result of legal amendments and campaigns.
Income exceeded 1 billion 75 million in the first eight months
Stressing that their priority in the transformation in vocational education is to reinforce the education, production and employment cycle, Minister Özer went on to say that, "One of the important steps within this framework is to increase the production capacity of vocational high schools. In 2021, the income of vocational and technical high schools was 312 million and 908 thousand liras in the first eight months of 2022 and this figure increased by 243 percent and reached 1 billion and 75 million in the first eight months of 2022."
Highest income was from İstanbul, Ankara and Gaziantep
High schools located in Ankara, İstanbul and Gaziantep has earned the highest income in the first eight months of 2022, said Minister Özer adding that "Vocational and technical schools in İstanbul earned more than 117 million liras income while income of vocational and technical schools in Ankara exceeded 105 million and vocational and technical schools in Gaziantep earned approximately 91 million liras. Schools in İstanbul earned 41 billion, schools in Ankara earned 31 million and schools in İzmir earned approximately 15 million in the first eight months of 2021."
Gaziantep Şehitkamil Beylerbeyi Vocational and Technical Anatolia High School Ranked First in Türkiye
Gaziantep Şehitkamil Beylerbeyi Vocational and Technical Anatolia High School earned 25 million and 255 thousand liras and ranked first in Türkiye in the list of production capacity among vocational high schools. Hatay Dörtyol Recep Atakaş Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School ranked second with 22 million 90 thousand liras income and İstanbul Büyükçekmece Kumburgaz Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School ranked third with 21 million and 383 thousand liras income.
These schools earned the highest income from food and beverage services, furniture and interior design, accommodation and travel services, chemical technology and information technologies in the first eight months of 2022. Schools earned 256 million 794 thousand liras from food and beverage services, 207 million 487 thousand liras from furniture and interior design, 126 million 198 thousand liras from accommodation and travel services, 87 million 510 thousand liras from chemistry technologies and 68 million 765 thousand liras from informatics technologies.
