MEB REACHES 691 THOUSAND STUDENTS AND PARENTS THROUGH THE PSYCHOSOCIAL SUPPORT ACTIVITIES IN THE EARTHQUAKE REGION

From the first day of the earthquake, the Ministry of National Education, which has been mobilized with all its units with search and rescue efforts, sheltering services, distribution of hot meals and basic needs, continues its psychosocial support activities in the region.
 
In this context, Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer stated that 418 psychosocial support tents were set up in the quake- hit provinces with the understanding of 'continuing education under all conditions' and noted that they have made great efforts to reduce the effects of negative emotions in both students and parents after the earthquake.
 
Özer stated that they have reached a total of students and parents in 418 psychosocial support tents and 88 hospital classrooms, thanks to the work carried out with the teachers and psychological counselors  Stating that 277 thousand 599 out of  691 thousand, 284 consists of parents and 413 thousand 685 of them are students, Özer noted that "earthquake psycho education program" will be implemented in 71 provinces as part of psychosocial support for preschool, primary, secondary and high school students.
