The Ministry of National Education had carried out many activities such as news bulletins, parent's guidebooks, games which can be played by the whole family and other similar activities in order to maintain constant strong cooperation with parents and took another step within this framework.

This time, the Minister of National Education used his own words to give contribution to families who wanted to support their children. He wrote a guidebook about lessons which can be learned daily activities in the kitchen, market, neighborhood during shopping, cooking and playing in the park and shared his suggestions.

"Curriculum Inside Life" guidebook written by Minister Selçuk is a support material for parents... Teacher Ziya stated in the preface of the guidebook, "We wanted to remind you that your daily life, things you do, things happened at home and in the street are in close relation with the curriculum and all these can support your children's education and training. The guidebook would help parents respond to frequently asked questions by their children and how they can use the information they learned from lessons at school."

Noting that daily life can actually be a rich and joyful learning environment for children, Teacher Ziya said children naturally learn liquid, gas and solid states of matter while cooking; development of plants while growing flowers; buoyancy of water while washing fruits, fractions while cutting cake into pieces and tractive force while drawing curtains. The guidebook offers suggestions about including children more to chores at home and social life and associating lessons with their chores at home.

Teacher Ziya used a simple and sincere language while addressing parents and suggested them to use their homes and neighborhood as a field for experiments by giving examples.

The guidebook includes 21 chapters such as "What can we learn while shopping in the local market?" "Park in the neighborhood is actually a laboratory?" "What do you know about machines at home?" "Chats on Mathematics" and "Fairy Tales, essence of childhood."

Teacher Ziya suggested that parents encourage their children to observe their neighborhood and local market, kitchen at home through the perspective of their lessons in Turkish, math, science and social sciences.

Addressing parents in the guidebook, Minister of National Ziya Selçuk stressed that they did not see parents and children as figures representing the number of students enrolled at schools.

"Each and every student is an individual that must be considered and cared separately. Be sure that every effort you make for your children will have a great impact in their lives. I hope that you will cherish everyday as an opportunity to learn and gain experience and teach them to your children."

Selçuk had an online meeting with parents from, Hakkari, Uşak, Ağrı, Ordu and Niğde as a part of the program to launch the guidebook

The Ministry has published 5 million copies of the guidebook and sent to 81 cities of the country for distribution.
