GOOD NEWS FOR BARTIN WITH INVESTMENT IN EDUCATION WORTH 310 MILLION TURKISH LIRAS

Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer said during his speech following the Provincial Education Assessment Meeting in Bartın that they have decided to make new investments in addition to existing education investments in the city.
 
The Ministry will allocate an additional 210 million liras in addition to the existing 100 million liras education budget of the city. The total investment budget of the city increased to 310 millions in 2022.
 
Özer stated that the Ministry will construct 4 new kindergartens and a special education campus in addition to reinforcement of school buildings in Bartın.
 
"We have solved schooling problem of female students"
Minister Özer had an İftar dinner with teachers, school administrators, businessmen, local administrators and members of NGOs.
 
He said during the İftar dinner that the country is witnessing the highest schooling rate of its history in all levels of education adding that, "Number of classrooms which was around 355 thousand in the 2000s reached 855 thousand. In other words, there are approximately 1 million classrooms in our education system. In the 2000s, 40 percent of existing 500 thousand teachers were women and today, 60 percent of current 1,2 million teachers are women. There is a similar increase in the schooling rate of female students. In the 2000s, the schooling rate of female students in secondary education was 39 percent. In other words, one of every two female students failed to enroll in high school. Today, this schooling rate increased to 90 percent."
 
Bartın Governor Sinan Güner, Bartın Deputy Yılmaz Tunç, Bartın Mayor Cemal Akın, Bartın University Rector Prof. Dr. Orhan Uzun and Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer was present at the İftar Dinner.
