ENGLISH LESSONS BEGIN IN SUMMER SCHOOL APPLICATION ON EBA

Students will test their levels in English by using a self-assessment method available on the EBA platform and then they will be directed to either the A1 or the A2 package according to their levels.

There will be no limit in accession to both language packages in order to support personal preferences of each learner. Students will be able to use any package they want and follow lessons from both packages.

English lessons on the EBA platform will be available every day during the week until July 31. Students will also have the opportunity to repeat the lesson of the previous day. Students will be able to assess their efficiency by answering questions that will be asked at the end of every lesson.

Enjoyable activities, games, animations 

Activities in English lessons in the Summer School application is based on teaching while students have fun. Due to this reason, lessons include various different games, listening materials, videos and animations.

Contents of the lessons are prepared under the coordination of the Head Council of Education and Morality Foreign Language Education Research and Development Center (YDE ARGEM) and with the support of e-content development team of the Directorate General for Innovation and Education (YEĞİTEK) and total of 90 volunteers from the Directorate General of Basic Education and Directorate of General of Religious Education.

With the contribution of the Directorate General of Teacher Training and Development, academicians from Hacettepe and Pamukkale universities gave distance in-service training to the content development team.

Before the development of contents of the English lessons, YDE ARGEM prepared a guideline for teachers for guidance in order to define the objective, level and coverage of lessons. Guideline included functions, list of words, language knowledge structures and criteria that will be used for the assessment of activities.

OGM MATERIAL which is developed and supported by the Directorate General of Middle Education and other Web 2.0 tools were used in the production of lesson contents. Lessons include original products of teachers.

Minister of National Education Ziya Selçuk stated in his Twitter message concerning newly started English lessons in Summer School application that he thinks it is very important to teach students foreign languages.

Selçuk added that they will be able to monitor foreign language level of students and their development with Online English Lessons in Summer School on EBA.
