"Students made important sacrifices to obey all measures in addition to wearing masks during classes. I would like them to rest, deal with sports activities and read at least one book during the spring break," said Özer.

The Ministry has established a Teacher Information Network (ÖBA) in an effort to provide a series of personal and professional training programs for teachers and more than 414,000 teachers have successfully completed training programs and received certificates during the fall and midterm breaks.

Although they are optional, teachers showed high attendance to training programs and they opted most for environment and climate change training programs. 142,425 teachers at least completed one training program.

"More systematic elimination of violence training programs"
Minister Özer noted that the Ministry has prepared 14 different training programs for the spring break by considering the demands of teachers and reminded that there were elimination of violence against women training programs before the declaration of the Year of Elimination of Violence Against Women Action Plan.

"Currently, these training programs concerning elimination of violence against women will become more systematic. It will also include all kinds of violence and peer bullying. We want to build a school environment where there is zero tolerance against all kinds of violence," said Özer.

Stressing that children are spending a majority of their times at schools, Özer stated, "We must show zero tolerance not only against violence targeting women but also all kinds of violence and peer bullying."

Özer said schools should be places where students and teachers feel safe or otherwise they would drop out from school.

"If we offer healthy and safe environment at school, we would have an important opportunity in the social transformation. As long as we disseminate good examples, the entire community will benefit and quality of education will improve," said Özer.

He noted that their determination to keep schools open during the Covid-19 pandemic posed an example for the society and opened the way for normalization in the entire society.

Positive discrimination against female administrators
