The Ministry of National Education has added a new project in October to its existing programs and projects and started the "1000 Schools for Vocational Training" project.
 
Within the framework of the project, the Ministry has prepared a support package varying from repair and maintenance of school buildings, establishment of libraries, and workshops to sports centers in 1000 vocational and technical Anatolian high schools selected according to certain criteria from all vocational and technical schools in 81 cities of the country.
 
One of the most important steps that is taken in order to decrease success rate differences among schools and main goals of the mentioned project was the establishment of E-libraries in all schools. The Ministry took quick action within this context and founded E-libraries in 350 schools.
 
Deputy Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer stated that the Ministry has prepared "1000 schools for Vocational Training" project in an effort to increase the quality of education in vocational and technical training and decrease success rate differences among schools.
 
Underlining that the project offers a wide range of activities for vocational school administrators, teachers, students, parents and the school climate, Özer said:
 
"We are planning to take a wide range of steps in line with the components of the project. The duration of the project will be one year. Our prior targets are improvement of infrastructure and opportunities. We will establish libraries in every school. We have taken the first step of the project that we started in October and established 350 schools in 81 cities within a very short period of time. We are planning to set up 650 new libraries in the next couple of months."
