DEPUTY MINISTER ŞENSOY ANSWERED QUESTIONS ABOUT LGS AND OTHER CENTRAL EXAMS

Deputy Minister of National Education Sadri Şensoy made comments about preparations for the central High School Entrance System (LGS) exam which is scheduled for June 5. Şensoy said that the Ministry did not make any changes in the duration of the exam and number of questions. Exam format which has been used since 2018 will remain the same and the exam will have two parts.
 
"The first part of the exam which will start at 09.30 o'clock will include Turkish, revolution history and Kemalism, religious culture and moral knowledge and foreign language questions. The duration of the first part will be 75 minutes. The second part will start at 11.30 and will include 40 mathematics and science questions. The duration will be 80 minutes. Students will have the opportunity to go out to the garden and relax between two parts," said Şensoy.
 
Sample questions are revised by 7 experts and then printed
The Deputy Minister stated that the Ministry has been publishing sample questions for students who will enter LGS exam since 2018 and they decided to publish question banks for these students every month. Sample questions in the question banks are revised by 7 experts and then printed.
 
The original exam includes 90 questions and the Ministry has been publishing 45 sample questions every month. The Ministry distributed 24 million supplementary sources between 2018 and 2021 for free.
 
Applications to LGS exams
The Ministry has been accepting central applications for the last two years as a part of Covid-19 pandemic measures. Sadri Şensoy noted that a total of 1 million and 236 thousand 8th grade students applied to enter LGS exam which will be held on June 5 and students will take the exam at their own schools.
 
Exam entrance documents will be ready at the exam halls
Şensoy said that the Ministry has been preparing exam entrance documents without the need of any application for the last two years and they will be ready at the exam halls. Students must bring their valid ID cards to the exam.
 
Results of the exam will be announced on June 30.
